Description
A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1952 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the charter for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad which was granted by the Maryland legislature in 1827.The B&O offered the first passenger rail service in the United States.
The stamps feature the charter and illustration of the three stages of transportation including horse drawn cars.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office almost 70 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to any train enthusiast!
