We supply the Wipe-On Clear Coat only for those who need additional coats or are doing 'bolstering' or 'replenishing' coats.

It will require a full Gallon for an RV of 30' to 33' feet in length, or a boat of 32' to 36' feet in length, or a coverage of approx. 320 sq. ft. for recommended 6 coats.
This is an excellent product for restoration and protection of Fiberglass and Gel Coat (Gelcoat) surfaces on RV's, Motorhomes, 5th Wheel, Campers, Trailers, Buses, Boats, Yachts and many other surfaces that require both protection and shine.
CostaCoat Protectant is a thin film polymer system. The first couple coats will penetrate and adhere to the base substrate, after the erosion has been filled the additional coats (we recommend 6 coats) will aid in protection, increase film thickness, adding depth and shine.

It’s a great alternative to wax, and has been especially developed for aged surfaces that have oxidized or degraded with time.
CostaCoat Protectant, is a rejuvenator, a scientifically formulated blend of polymers, designed to penetrate into tired, dried out, dull, oxidized finishes. After years of oxidation and weathering, your original finish has pitted, eroded away and become porous...This product will fill in the erosion and restore your finish to a high gloss, with depth of shine.
General Application Instructions
Application is simple. Make certain the gelcoat, fiberglass, or painted surface is clean, wax free and that all loose oxidation has been removed, using CostaCoat's         Prep-Cleaner (following the instructions on the bottle), with the appropriate 3M ScotchBrite pad included in this kit. Rinse well with water and dry. Simply apply CostaCoat Protectant (following the instructions included on the bottle) using the fine microfiber applicator (included in this kit), wiping on in long even sweeping motions (sort of like wiping off a table)...Do not rub in or buff, just wipe on. It will take between 10 to 20 minutes for the product to dry between coats, depending on climate conditions. Multiple coats are required, with a minimum of six initial coats. We suggest cleaning (pre-wash with Dawn dish soap, rinse well, dry) then and applying two more coats per season, depending on usage and the environment.
CostaCoat Protectant works excellent on RV's and Boats that have vinyl graphics, since this product provides a thin continuous film, it helps to lock the edges of the vinyl graphics and act as a secondary line of protection for the vinyl graphics themselves, while protecting your base finish. This product also works excellent on the orange-peel looking fiberglass (like the vintage rear caps on the full size Ford Broncos).
Additional Information
Ultraviolet rays, wind driven dirt, acid rain, all cause polymers to gradually break down, leaving them dull and porous. The CostaCoat formula will help protect the base material from further oxidation and deterioration damage caused by UV, dirt, and other elemental hazards. Oxidized gel coat and paint become very porous once some of its crucial polymers have leached out which allows dirt in the air and waterborne minerals to anchor into the pores causing what is known in the industry as "plastic rust". Using CostaCoat will prevent further Gelcoat and paint oxidation, which is basically a breaking down of the resin molecules that slough off, leaving you with the resulting dull a finish or oxidation, sometimes called "chalk" or "chalking". After multiple coats of CostaCoat have been applied, the surface will be restored, pores will be refilled, resulting in a smooth, shiny finish once again.
CostaCoat Protectant was developed to restore Gel Coat and Painted finishes. It is a thin film polymer which is designed to be hand applied. It penetrates and anchors itself to a well cleaned, wax and
contaminant
free surfaces. This product was designed for ease of use and maximum durability. Being a thin film system, the more layers that are applied, the better shine and protection will be achieved. Once this system has been applied it will serve as the sacrificial layer that will then take on the brunt of the elements. With its ease of application, it can be easily renewed by wiping on one or two more coats.
