Description
This is one of 2 identical EK pumps I bought for 9.00 for a non-computer cooling project. I was designing a water cooling loop for a CNC router spindle and it turned out that I only needed one. But, I threw the boxes away when I received them thinking I would be installing them right away. It will include the screws for mounting, the wires, and the G 1/4 barb fittings that came with it. In order to make sure this pump worked, I put together a flow meter and about a foot of SPC tubing. These pumps spec out at up to 1000 L/H but you can see that the real world flow in my example is 537 L/H when you add back pressure with a flow meter, several fittings, and a length of hose.On the pump that I used in my spindle cooling loop, I'm only getting a flow rate of 2.5 L/H because I have over 20' of tubing, a 480 radiator, a flow meter, and the spindle itself which only has 7mm (1/4") in/out ports. That's why I chose a ddc pumps because they are designed more for pressure. Even with this lower flow rate on my loop, I can't get the cooling loop for the spindle hotter than 45c. And to do that, I have to turn off all of my radiator fans! With the fans running full, I sit at about 29c.

The D5 can offer bigger flow rates at a lower pressure, while the DDC has higher pressure but lower flow rates.

I have this pump listed as used, but it is new. I only listed it as used because I put liquid through it to test it for around 5 min.

EK-XRES 140 DDC 3.2 PWM (incl. pump) is a High-Performance water cooling pump. The core of the unit is the market-proven
EK-DDC 3.2 PWM
water pump (4-pin PWM FAN header). This unit offers increased hydraulic performance (up to 15 %) compared to original factory top.
PWM control allows for automatic pump speed regulation depending on your CPU temperature. Full performance on demand or whisper quiet operation in idle mode!
This top features three G1/4 threaded ports of which one is an inlet, one is an outlet and the last can either be an inlet or drain/fill. EK recommends EK-ACF series compression fittings. Using the enclosed EK-Extender G1/4, installation of virtually any G1/4 thread fitting/barb is possible. EK recommends EK-ACF series compression fittings/adapters.
EK-XRES DDC pump series reservoirs come preinstalled with anti-cyclone insert. Additionally a PU anti-vortex foam is enclosed.
The pump is nested inside the
EK-DDC Heatsink Housing.
This vastly improves the cooling performance of the motor and electronics and thus prolongs the lifespan of the water pump.
Optimal heat transfer is ensured by the use of enclosed thermal pad pre-cut for your convenience. Due to its metallic construction and finned design, EK-DDC Heatsink Housing amplifies the effect of airflow, therefore placing the water pump in front of any fan or radiator will dramatically improve the cooling performance.
EK-DDC Heatsink Housing is made from cast ZAMAK (zinc, aluminum, magnesium, copper) alloy and features glossy black paint finish.
This product also features vibration-dampening rubber mounting system which effectively de-couples the water pump from the rest of the computer chassis.

This reservoir can be easily upgraded with
longer acrylic tubes
used by EK-RES X3 series reservoirs.
The top of this combo unit can be used as an inlet by adding the
EK-RES X3 - Multiport TOP
and an
EK-RES X3 - Internal Tube
with the corresponding length to your reservoir size. The Internal Tube is important to prevent the splashing sound of the coolant inside the reservoir and to prevent coolant foaming. It is recommended that the end of the internal inlet tube is submerged in coolant.
