Imagine a technology that gives you the ability to practice your electric guitar and bass anytime, anyplace right on your smart phone, tablet or computer with industry respected software effects and legendary amplifier emulations. Imagine that same technology on stage with you at your next performance allowing you to tap into world-class tones and effects while playing through your favorite amplifier. Well wonder no more, now everyone can plug in their guitar or bass to enjoy killer tone on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or select Android devices with iRig 2.
An enhancement to the original iRig, version 2 features a 1/4 output jack that lets you use iRig 2 with your amplifier as a part of your live rig without the use of an adaptor. This opens up a whole world of opportunities when paired with AmpliTube, IK's powerful guitar and bass multi-effects processor. It provides you with a vast library of meticulously modeled virtual stompbox effects, amplifiers and other gear that you can use as a part of your physical rig when you're jamming with friends, at a practice session, in the recording studio or performing live. Or plug your headphones into the included 1/8 headphone output and have the ability to practice with high-end effects and tones anywhere, anytime.
Even better is that iRig 2 features a switch that lets you select between a processed signal and a clean "thru" input signal. This means you can also use your mobile device as a tuner, recorder or other tool while preserving the purity of a 100% analog signal path.
iRig 2 is there to help you make your practice and performance sessions as easy as possible. It comes with a microphone stand mount and Velcro strip that allow you to easy attach it for performance alongside other convenient tools like IK's iKlip range of mic supports for all sizes of smartphones and tablets.
Plug and play simplicity on every device
iRig 2 has been made to be compatible with the widest range of instruments and mobile devices possible. Its built-in universal 1/8 TRRS output connector gives you a true plug-and-play experience with your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or Android device.
Likewise, its 1/4 instrument input works with your guitar, bass or any line-level instrument. Just plug into it like you would into a stompbox or amplifier. It' as simple as that.
And because volume levels vary from instrument to instrument and from device to device, iRig 2 comes equipped with an input gain control knob that lets you dial in the perfect setting for your setup. You'll get great sound quality no matter whether you have a wailing 3 humbucker electric guitar running into your Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or a jazzy archtop connected to your iPhone 6.
Your guitar tone on your Android phone (or tablet)
Got an Android smartphone or tablet? Great! iRig 2's 1/8 output connector is compatible with many popular Android devices produced by manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC and more ” any device with an 1/8 input that supports the CTIA/AHJ wiring standard works with iRig 2.
Additionally, users with Android devices that support Samsung Professional Audio can enjoy AmpliTube for Android, a special version of the popular multi-effects processor that brings a full spread of meticulously modeled virtual gear to the Android platform.
    Compatability
Beyond its iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Mac support, iRig 2 also offers complete compatibility with Samsung's new line of Samsung Professional Audio devices. That means you can play and process with the full power of AmpliTube for Samsung Pro Audio with your Galaxy Note 3, Note 4, Galaxy Edge, Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S6. Plus iRig 2 now also offers compatibility with devices running the Android 5 platform.
What do I need to get started streaming?
If you are streaming stereo audio from a mixer, DJ set-up or anything with line-level output, the iRig Stream is an excellent option for your streams. This will allow for your signal to be sent into its RCA input and monitored through its onboard 3.5 mm headphone port. This headphone port will also allow a headset (CTIA/AHJ wiring standard) for narrating your performances.
For sending two balanced sources into iOS, like two XLR cables, check out iRig Pro Duo I/O. This powerful tool allows for two combo jack inputs (XLR and 1/4") for almost any kind of input to be sent to Mac/PC, iOS or Android.
If you're looking to simply stream your voice and no other signal, check out the iRig Mic HD 2 or iRig Mic Studio. These digital USB microphones will send a crystal-clear audio signal into an iOS, Mac/PC or Android device. If you use your own microphone, but just need a way to send your signal into your iOS, Mac/PC, or Android device, check out the iRig Pre HD.
Can I stream to Facebook Live, Instagram Live or other services using my iRig?
Yes. Apps such as Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Zoom Meeting and Facebook Live allow you to record/stream using both digital and analog iRig devices. Analog iRig devices use a direct connection to your mobile device's headphone port. This is usually through a 3.5 mm TRS connection. Digital iRig devices use a direct connection to the mobile device's USB-C, Lightning or Micro-USB port.
    Note:
Some apps will require you to start the video recording to activate your microphone. Not all apps will offer external audio input for every video capture option. In Instagram, the "Story" feature will not allow external devices.
    Important:
On iOS (iPhone/iPad/iPod), due to the nature of Facebook and Instagram Live and how they capture audio, the below workaround can be used with iRig audio interfaces (such as iRig Stream, iRig Pro DUO I/O or iRig HD 2) to allow for an uninterrupted audio input source.
Download and launch iRig Recorder 3 LE from the Apple App Store. This is a free app.
Go to the Menu in the upper right hand corner and then go to Settings. Inside here, enable the Background audio option.
Use the COG WHEEL in the main page to select your input source. Keep in mind this is only an option for multi-input devices, so if you see a greyed out "Mono" option, this is because your device only offers this kind of input signal.
Launch Facebook or Instagram and go to the Live video function. The audio input will now be routed to these apps
    Important:
Android users must have a device which allows digital audio or external audio input from CTIA/AHJ wiring standard devices to allow for the iRig to work properly.
    Features:
The sequel to IK's best-selling iRig interface
1/4 instrument input for use with guitar, bass and other instruments
1/4 amplifier output for use with an external amplifier without an adaptor

    1/8 headphone output
    Compact and lightweight design
