    Here we go with a nice early railroad item. This is a early kerosene oil filler can, probably used to fill railroad lanterns. Marked RF & P RLY. THE RICHMOND FREDRICKSBURG & POTOMAC RAILWAY. The history of the railroad begins in the 1830'S as a railway to connect the Virginia state capital to the Potomac. People could ride a train, instead of having to go by stagecoach.
